ABSTRAK
STRUKTURMIKRO DAN SIFAT MEKANIK KOMPOSIT ELASTOMER TERMOPLASTIK -TIMBAL OKSIDA. Telah dilakukan penelitian strukturmikro dan sifat mekanik komposit elastomer termoplastik dengan timbal oksida
berbentuk PbJO4. Elastomer termoplastik dibentuk daTi campuran elastomer berupa karet alam dengan termoplastik berupa metil
metakrilat (MMA) secara bersama-sama diiradiasi sinar gamma secara optimal. Selanjutnya elastomer termoplastik (KA-PMMA)
digiling dalam laboplastomill dan ditambahkan PbJO4 sebanyak 10%,30%,40% dan 50% berat. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan
sifat mekanik (kekuatan tarikdan perpanjangan putus) mengalami penurunand engan meningkatnya kadarP b3O4D. an strukturrnikro
dengan pengamatan SEM menunjukkan bahwa Pb3O4te rsebar merata dan berfungsi sebagaifiller (pengisi) didalam komposit.

MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF LEAD OXIDE- THERMOPLASTIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITE. Research on microstructure and mechanical properties of lead oxide-thermoplastic elastomer composite
with Pb3O4 as lead oxide. Thermoplastic elastomer synthesized from natural rubber as the elastomer and methyl metacrilate
as the thermoplastic and irradiated simultaneously with optimum gamma ray. Thermoplastic elastomer (NR-PMMA) grind in a
laboplastomill and Pb3O4 was added in varied amount of 10%, 30%,40% and 50%wt The results showed that mechanical
properties (tensile strength and elongation break) decreased as the Pb3O4 composition increased. Microstructure from SEM
observation showed that Pb3O4 distributed evenly and having function as filler in composite
