DESAIN BASKET SENTRIFUGAL UNTUK PROSES FILTRASI SLURRY TORIUM HIDROKSIDA. Pilot plant ThO₂ dari tailing pengolahan monasit kapasitas 100 kg/hari merupakan proses untuk mengambil torium dalam bentuk oksida ThO₂yang terdiri dari 3 tahap proses, yaitu proses preparasi, proses ekstraksi dan proses dekomposisi thermal. Salah satu alat yang diperlukan untuk mendukung ketiga proses diatas adalah basket sentrifugal yang digunakan untuk proses filtrasi torium hidroksida.Telah dilakukan perhitungan teknis dalam rangka desain basket sentrifugal. Bentuk basket sentrifugal adalah silinder tegak dengan volume desain basket 0,23 m³. Adapun dimensi basket adalah diameter 1,2 m, tinggi 0,20 m. Beban maksimum 1800 kg, material konstruksi SS-316L, waktu filtrasi 96 detik dan total daya yang diperlukan 11 kW.

ABSTRACT

DESIGN OF BASKET CENTRIFUGE FOR FILTRATION PROCESS OF SLURRY OF THORIUM HYDROXIDE. Pilot plant of ThO₂ from tailing monazite processing with capacity of 100 kg/day is a process for recovering thorium ThO₂that consists of 3 process stages: preparation process, extraction process and thermal decomposition process. One of equipment’s required for support in third process is basket centrifuge for filtration process of thorium hydroxide. In order to design the basket centrifuge engineering calculations are performed. The type of the basket centrifuge is vertical drum with volume basket is 0,23 m³. The dimension is 1,2 m in diameter, 0,20 m in height. Maximum load is 1800 kg, construction material is SS-316L, time of filtration is 96 second and total power required is 11 kW.
